Chapter 14
During the centuries of 1450 and 1750 the beginning of any form of commerce started with the “Atlantic Slave Trade”. This was the road towards the modern era which began the idea world wide human interactions of trading spices, silver, and other goods discovered through other civilizations. For example, the Indian Ocean , where the Europeans started creating their relationships with the Asians and East Africa for exotic spices. Doing this, helped the Europeans recover from the Black Death Plague that brought down their population, power, and civilization. Creating other relations with other civilizations helped them gain more power in numbers and resources to help build themselves back up. On the other hand, the Portuguese were trying to rule and over take the Indian Ocean and become powerful over other vessels that carried trading goods across the oceans to try to overtake the spice industry over the Europeans.
