Chapter 15
After reading chapter 15 at the start of the chapter, Christianity was introduced and was divided between the Roman Catholics of Western Europe and the Eastern Orthodox of Eastern Europe. Islam had its own separate Religion apart from other civilizations religions. The islamic people forced out Christian values and the crusaders in the 1300's and captured Eastern Orthodox in the Ottoman seizure of Constantinople in 1453. One very interesting thing I had learned after reading the chapter was the Protestant Reformation that began in 1517. Later Martin Luther began to protest that he does not belong to any religion or sees no benefit in a religion. After successful conquering and turning other civilizations to roman catholicism the Europeans believed that their military, political, and religious success was from God. I also found the Scientific Revolution very interesting. The scientific revolution changed how everyone viewed space, the universe, and a lot of other things around the world. From 1642 to 1727 the first scientist, Issac Newton, made many scientific breakthroughs especially with the laws of motion.
